All Polished Up

Ladies, are you tired of getting a fresh manicure only to wake up the next morning and find that your nail polish has already started chipping? We’ve all been there; here are a few products and tips that to ensure your manicure lasts well into the next week!
1.                          Have a strong foundation. When giving your self a manicure, always apply a base coat. Base coats not only help your manicure to last longer but it also protects your nails from being stained by bright colored polish. My favorite base coat is actually not a polish at all. It’s a product by OPI called Chip Skip. Although I was skeptical at first I gave it a try. To my surprise, my manicure lasted for a whole week, and that was without a top coat.
2.                          Double Up! Make sure that you apply two layers of polish. Not only does it enhance the color, but the extra layer will also help your manicure to last longer.
3.                          Cast down your anchor. When applying your last layer of polish take the brush and extend the polish a little over the underside of your nail. It will lock in the polish and practically expel those chips that start at the top of your nail.
4.                          Wrap it up. When you’re done, apply a top coat of polish. There are many kinds of top coats; one that I like is the Mega Shine Extended Wear Top Coat by Sally Hansen. Just make sure you don’t shake it up to much because it tends to bubble up.

Looking for a new look? Try a new colored polish! Red will give you a grown and sexy look. For a more soft girly look, try a pale pink!
